Bodec DNA: This is Who We Are

If you’re looking for an organization that focuses on scaling up production smoothly and efficiently, then Bodec is the name you need to know. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Bodec has grown into a reliable partner for companies with production ambitions. But what makes Bodec so unique? It’s in their DNA: a practical and pragmatic way of thinking, based on honesty and collaboration. To learn more about this, we speak today with Toine Hultermans (Business Development Manager) and Paul Deckers (one of the owners).

Many companies have an idea and want to turn it into a tangible product. The process of going from an idea to an actual product can be a complicated journey. Bodec makes it easy. They work with clients to turn this idea into a product, and in the meantime, Bodec helps in producing and delivering products even before the factory is ready. This enables companies to invest in the right market development and focus on developing their own factory, while Bodec takes on the burdens of the initial production phase.

Equal Partners

Toine (Business Development Manager) affirms that Bodec is not a traditional supporting organization but an equal partner. Together with the client, they work on a product, face challenges, discover, and ultimately come to a process. This is our strength – the ability to take problems off hands and adapt to the needs of the entrepreneur. We prefer not to say ‘no,’ but to find ways to help and support our clients as best as we can.

As Toine says, “An important aspect of this is ‘taking our clients by the hand.’ We ensure that the client clearly understands what is happening, what steps they are taking, and why. This is very characteristic of Bodec; our pragmatism translates into how we apply our knowledge to find solutions and support the client in their journey to their own production.”

Expectation Management

“The majority of the challenge lies in collaboration,” continues colleague Paul (one of the owners of Bodec). “We are often asked about the ingredients present in certain streams, such as proteins or fibers. The challenge is to create a process together and walk the right path. On this path, we also look at the right end customer or market for which the product is intended. It is important to optimally utilize the market and network and certainly not waste money on non-viable processes.

Managing expectations is crucial here. Clients often already have an idea of what they want, but it is important to involve Bodec in the process from the beginning. Good communication is the common thread in everything we do. We use our knowledge, experience, and creativity to deliver a successful product while protecting clients from potential pitfalls.”

So, What Should Clients Know About Bodec’s DNA?

Clients should know that Bodec wants to be involved in the process from the very beginning. They need an open mindset to ask questions, be open, and be receptive to alternative solutions. What works on a kitchen scale is often different on a factory scale. Bodec is here to help them bridge that gap, to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible. That is Bodec’s DNA: practical, pragmatic, creative, honest, and always ready to collaborate.
